Despite being among the most important members of society, teachers receive the lowest pay.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Someone who dedicates their life to instructing, advising, and mentoring the next generation is a rare breed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are numerous instances of instructors going above and beyond to support their pupils.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Jonathan Oliver, a physical education teacher at Valdosta, Georgia\u2019s WG Nunn Elementary School, was recently recognized for a selfless act he carried out while coaching a kindergarten basketball game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He would be happy to assist a student who asked for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliver, Kristen Paulk\u2019s kindergarten basketball coach, stepped in to assist Paulk when she needed assistance tying her hair back in a ponytail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oliver appeared focused as he removed Kristen\u2019s locks from her eyes, bending down to her level on a basketball. But without even realizing it, he was being recorded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The coach\u2019s thoughtful gesture was captured on camera by Kandice Anderson, one of the elementary school\u2019s teachers. She then posted the footage to YouTube, where it garnered a lot of positive feedback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The video\u2019s title was \u201cWhen your job goes beyond teaching!\u201d and it quickly went viral.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the clip made its way there, Good Morning America approached the 34-year-old father of three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was shocking to me that it got that much attention because we all do it,\u201d Oliver Good Morning America, adding that he didn\u2019t realize he was being filmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe [teachers] want to make them feel like they\u2019re at home and that they enjoy being here,\u201d he added. \u201cWe try to love on them as much as possible. To me, it was just a ponytail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doting coach revealed that Kristen had requested for his assistance with putting a ponytail in her hair for a basketball game, and while he usually helps his daughter style her hair, he was at a loss for anything beyond that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt was a good thing she asked for a ponytail. Anything else, I\u2019d say, \u2018You better ask your mom,\u2019\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Miyah Cleckley, Kristen\u2019s mother, told the outlet that the video struck her deeply and that she knows her daughter is in good hands whenever she is with him. \u201cI always know that Kristen is in very good hands with him. I thought it was really cute because her father he does their hair a lot. We have five girls and one son so when I\u2019m working he has to pick up the weight of doing their hair.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
